The elastic band on the medium size barely fits my 10 year old son, and fits my 8 year old girls fine. My 4 year old son wears the XS.

Shipped quickly. The elastic calf strap is not completely comfortable, but I'm using them as slide in shin guards instead.

These shin guards are fine. Note that the sizes are youth!!! Elastic back covers about 1/3 of the guard and is sewn in (not velcro.) It would have been fine if the shin guards had been the correct size. I cut the elastic out to make slip-in style and used with a compression sleeve until I found replacements.
