I know these socks are quoted as being "irregular" but I can't really find anything wrong with them. I actually don't play soccer, but I stand at work most of the day which can cause my legs to swell. I have found by wearing these soccer socks that they provide simple compression and a very comfortable footbed. This alleviates the swelling and leaves my feet very comfortable. It's also quite cold right now and the extra length helps keep my legs warm.
